Timing Your Saliva Collection For Accurate Test Results
1. Hormones are highest in the morning so testing first thing is important.
2. There are certain days when testing is optimal.
- MEN can test anytime.
- WOMEN who do not have a menstrual cycle can test anytime.
- WOMEN who are menstruating need to test between days 19 and 21 with day 1 being the first day of the previous menstrual cycle. |  |
3. MEN & WOMEN on any hormones need to allow 12 - 24 hours after application or ingestion before taking the test. The use of these hormones needs to be noted on the requisition form (eg. thyroid, estrogen, cortico steroids, progesterone cream). Testing while on hormones will tell you if your program is working.
